In this light, we will continue to offer distance tutoring alongside in-person options for appointments. The tutors at the LIU Brooklyn Writing Center come from a diverse array of backgrounds in fields such as Media Arts, Creative Writing, Political Science, Psychology, Pharmacy, Education, History and Visual Arts. What these tutors have in common is their skill and passion for writing, as well as a desire to assist others in their writing endeavors.

Lynn Hassan
Director

Lynn Hassan began working as a tutor in the Writing Center in the spring of 1999. She began teaching in the Writing Program in 2003, and became the associate director of the Writing Center in the fall of 2008. She has a broad background in education, psychological practices, and the arts. Her formal education includes traditional and non-traditional forms of study. In addition to teaching writing and running the Writing Center, she is a visual artist with an M.F.A. degree from SUNY Albany.
